Bruce Davis Obituary

Bruce E. Davis Sr.
September 28, 1948 – November 7, 2022

In loving memory of A Husband, A Father, A Grandfather, and A Friend. Bruce E. Davis Sr. was more than just these simple things he was a believer in Christ who lived his life in service of others. He loved his Family and Friends dearly. You could always find him asking someone “Is there anything I can do to help you?”

He was born in Elizabeth, NJ, and grew up in Colonia NJ. Bruce graduated from Woodbridge High. He is a graduate of Seton Hall University where he obtained a Bachelor’s in Education with a concentration in History.

Bruce was a member of Faith Fellowship Ministries WOC (Epic Church) in Sayreville, NJ for over 30 years and served in the Children’s Ministry Nursery department for 25 years, and sang in the choir, Judah. Most recently (2020) he joined Fountain of Life Center in Burlington, NJ.

Bruce’s professional career included being a Teacher, Salesman, District Manager, and Business Analysis Consultant. Upon retiring, Bruce started his own Business Development Firm, Efficiency Xperts.

Bruce was a strong advocate for justice and a Life Member of the NAACP and served as the Economic Development Committee Chair for the NJ State Conference NAACP and a member of the Southern Burlington County NAACP branch. Understanding that all politics are local, Bruce was sure to have his boots on the ground be it a city council meeting, the NJ Statehouse, or Capital Hill. He was a member: of the Burlington City Democratic committee, Historic Yorkshire Alliance, and Main Street Burlington, NJ Citizens Action to name a few.

Bruce was a sports fanatic and enjoyed watching his favorite teams which were the NY Giants, Brooklyn Nets, NY Yankees, and his beloved Seton Hall University basketball…Go Pirates!  He was also an avid moviegoer and enjoyed the Sci-Fi genre and all things Marvel. He enjoyed good food and traveling which he did often with his wife, Cynthia.

He loved his family dearly always making time to reach out to them and visit them as often as possible. He held those moments dear as he knew family is what matters most in life.

He leaves behind his loving wife Cynthia L. Davis, his sons Bruce E. Davis Jr., Steven P. Davis, Matthew Davis, his daughter Denise Sierra, his sister April Fitch, his uncles Leroy "Red" Fitch and Joseph "Hooks" Harris and brother-in-law Brian K. Langley. Bruce also was grandfather to ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Bruce leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Bruce was predeceased by his Daughter Kimberly Davis, his Mother Phyllis Davis, both fathers Philip Davis and Edward Fitch, his sisters Monica Fitch and Patricia Fitch, his nephew Samad Fitch and his niece LaTasha Fitch.

Bruce Davis Sr. will be greatly missed by all whose path he crossed, but the memories he made during his time with us will last forever.
