Kenwyn Garcia Obituary

Our beloved Kenwyn Alan Garcia departed this life on May 24th, 2023, after a short battle with esophageal cancer at 48 years old. Kenwyn was born in Trinidad and Tobago, on August 24th, 1974, and was the first child of Vitus and Elizabeth Garcia. During his childhood, he enjoyed playing basketball, excelled in athletics, and loved attending church camp. He strongly disliked attending evening classes and would hide to avoid it, so he could play with his childhood friends (Glen and Verneil). He was actively involved in Youth ministries at Valencia Pentecostal Assembly, where he met his closest friends: Kevin (Tallman) Quamina, Krishen Dass, Ronnie Nelson, Anusjka Regis, Vaughn Villafana (deceased), Chevonne Bartholomew (deceased) and Vishnu Dass (deceased). Every Sunday, after church, they would all gather at his home for Sunday Lunch. Kenwyn grew up in Valencia and was very close to the St. John family. He would have met Nathifa St. John and they were married for 13 years and remained great friends. Thereafter, he met Carla and her daughter Hasanya. Although Kenwyn was thirteen years older than his sister, Kirchelle, he was extremely close with her. He maintained the closeness with his sister until his time of death. Usually, he would often call to check up on her, and ask, “Yō sis, what are you doing? Are you at work?” According to how the conversation went, his response would have been, “Okay, well handle your business, I love you sis, bye!” Kenwyn graduated from the Arima Senior Comprehensive School in Trinidad. He was well-liked among his friends who spoke highly of him. Despite being the shortest, he was always friendly and well-known for being a comic. Kenwyn had three biological children; Quamere, Aisha, and Keioni, and a stepdaughter Hasanya. Despite being diagnosed with cancer, Kenwyn was a fighter and found joy in life through his family, especially his children. Kenwyn rededicated his life to the Lord Jesus Christ on January 15th, 2023 at Christ Apostolic Temple and gained his wings in heaven
