Lamar James Hazell was born September 28, 1975, in Trenton, NJ. He departed this life on January 14, 2022, in Columbus, GA. He joined the US ARMY after graduating from high school and eventually retired after serving 30 years in the ARMY. Lamar was predeceased by his father, Marcus C. Hazell Sr., his mother, Gloria Archer, his sisters Deborah Nicole Hazell and Dorothy N. Hazell, and his brother Darell Hazell.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his loving children, Zanii Bulter, Tamiryah McCoy, Davon Isaiah Hazell, Tavion Scott Pierce, and Vengue Hutchins, granddaughter, Legend Billups. His brothers Marcus C.Hazell Jr., Shawn Hazell, Larry Holland, Calvin Washington, and Thomas Peterson. His sisters Ruth Washington and Renée McDonald (Patrick), his favorite sister-in-law, Shelley Hazell. His nieces and nephews, Jalissa Brooks, Christian Hazell, Nicholas Hazell, Melanie Williams, Timya Hazell, Jahshaun Hazell, Jya Hazell, Jahmir Hazell, Kayla Harris, Taja Davis, Tiana McDonald, Nevius Page, Taquan Gibson, Dacquiece Holland, David Holland, and Larry Holland Jr. He is also survived by his aunt Rochelle and uncle Andy of Chicago, IL, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family members. A very special thanks to his brother and best friend of over 30 years, Mr. Adrain Turner of Georgia for helping carry out his wishes.
Lamar will have memorial services with military honors to be held on January 29, 2022, at Progressive Funeral Home, located at 4235 Saint Marys Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907 at 1:00 p.m. A homecoming celebration will be held on February 5, 2022, at Cavalry Christian Fellowship Ministries, 611 Parkway Avenue, Ewing NJ 08618. Viewing from 9:00-11:00 am with service starting at 11:00 am. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Services LLC, Toni M. Ford, Manager N.J. Lic.
